During HDPE pipe extrusion operations, the startup and adjustment process generates substantial waste melt lumps. These large, hard blocks cannot be processed by standard crushers and require specialized shredding equipment. Our single shaft shredder features high rotation speed and shaped knives to effectively process these waste materials. Workers feed melt lumps through the input port, and the machine outputs uniform particles through the discharge outlet.
Shredder Configuration Options
We offer two single shaft shredder configurations: sliding port design and upper port design. Both models share identical motor specifications and internal construction while providing different feeding options to suit various operational requirements.
Pre-Crushing Applications
Single shaft plastic shredders serve as pre-crushing equipment for challenging materials including sacks, jumbo bags, tires, cable, and yarn that are difficult to process directly in granulators. Pre-crushing extends granulator lifespan, increases processing capacity, and protects cutting blades from premature wear.
Materials processed through rotating and fixed blades can be further refined to desired particle sizes using downstream granulators. The system incorporates automatic safety features including stop functions, reverse direction operation, and alarm systems to handle material jamming, metal detection, and overload conditions.
